Project 3-1
Full course description
Section titled “Full course description”The project is carried out by small groups of students and guided by the teachers of the courses from the first period. It relates strongly to the content of the subjects from the first period. The project is split into three phases.
In the first phase, students become familiar with the project assignment and lay a foundation for the next phases. This often involves implementing a basic environment and conducting research related to the project assignment. The first phase concludes with a presentation.
In the second phase, students have obtained a basic platform to work with. In this phase, more advanced concepts are implemented, and a plan is made for phase three. The second phase concludes with a presentation.
Phase three consists of three full-time weeks in which students work together with their project group on the core of the assignment. Before starting this phase, students are expected to have already implemented an environment to work with and obtained a plan for this phase. The third phase concludes with a presentation. Additionally, during the third phase, a scientific paper must be written about the project results.
The project is accompanied by so-called skills classes. These classes help students develop competences that are useful when working on a project assignment with a group. The skills classes vary in topic from technical concepts, such as working with LaTeX, to social concepts, such as leadership, presentation skills, and scientific writing.
